ELDOA: The Importance of Space
In the last newsletter I discussed how ELDOA makes space. Now let’s consider why we want space within joints, especially those of the spine.
Are you dealing with unresolved health challenges including:
Sinus problems
Carpal tunnel
Liver conditions
Digestive problems
Constipation or Diarrhea
Menstrual troubles
Edema of the lower extremities
This is only a sample, but they can all be caused or worsened by poor communication within the nervous system. How this relates to making space within the joints of the spine is that the spinal cord runs through the spine and specific nerve bundles exit spinal joint.
Disc degeneration, herniations, bulging discs, inflammation (arthritis), poor posture (static and especially dynamic), muscle imbalances and more can all contribute to interfering with nerve communication.
If you look around and even look in the mirror, most people have some degree of at least one if not more of these issues. The older we get, the more common they are.
If you look at the image, from Gray’s Anatomy, 29th Edition, it shows parts of the body are associated with each joint and some of the possible symptoms associated with them. This is a rather simplified version of a rather complex structure. They don’t include the muscles associated with each joint and other info is lacking, but I believe it still gets the point across.
I am not going to say that all symptoms noted are the result of a compromised nervous system, but I will say that it is far more common than most would think and rarely does the medical system even consider the implications when a patient is visiting them. After all, no drug exists which will magically create space and even more importantly, maintain that space over time.
Fortunately for you, there is a little thing called ELDOA which is proven to create and maintain space within targeted joints. If you are dealing with chronic unresolved health challenges, you can target the joint(s) associated with that challenge. If you don’t have any issues and are looking to prevent them or optimize overall body function you can proactively target key joints. For example:
L5S1 is the most injured joint in the spine
T8T9 is considered the Athlete’s ELDOA as this joint is vital for proper spinal rotation. We also have
T6T7 greatly contributes to thoracic kyphosis or rounding of the upper back a common postural distortion made worse with all the time spent sitting and in front of electronic devices
C7T1 takes a lot of stress from forward head carriage, also common with electronic devices
Regardless of your health or performance goals, ELDOA, integrated into your daily routine for as little as 15-20 minutes can greatly improve your likelihood of success.
ELDOA is by no means a “magic bullet”. As mentioned, while your health challenges can be caused by nervous system disruption, there are many possible causal factors to any given issue. ELDOA works best when you are making the most appropriate lifestyle choices possible for you, relative to Diet (eating), Rest (sleep), Exercise(movement), Stress reduction and targeted use of Supplements.
Consider ELDOA to be one of many tools in your health tool belt.As with any group of tools, sme are more important than others depending upon the task at hand.
