Overview
Whether your favorite activity is dance, yoga, a sport, or even just trying to keep up with kids or grandkids, your body was made to move. Some lucky bodies are able to move without pain, train without getting injured, build strength and muscle efficiently, and steadily improve with effort. Not all of us are so fortunate.
The flip side to this is that every movement challenge that presents itself is an opportunity--if we know how to listen to our bodies. Often physical imbalances, over-training, past or current injuries, or a sedentary lifestyle can hamper our ability to read the signs. In many cases, a one-size-fits-all approach to training is simply not enough.
My approach to personal training is different. I begin with a comprehensive movement assessment. The objective is to uncover strengths, weaknesses, and imbalances in the body especially as they relate to your Inner Unit, those deep abdominal muscles that form the foundation for all integrated movement. This insight allows us to start from where you are, greatly reducing future roadblocks and establishing a baseline while increasing the rate of progress in a safe, effective manner.
There is ALWAYS a reason that the body is expressing itself in the way that it does. I help my clients to understand why their bodies are expressing their particular patterns and how to address them based on their goals. There is always room for improvement regardless of your age, chosen activity, structural anomalies, or injuries that may be present.
I like to say that clients tend to find me after they've tried everything else and are at the end of their rope. This is more than OK with me! I love a challenge, and it is a privilege for me to be a part of my clients' growth and movement journeys. Get in touch with me today to discuss the challenges that you are experiencing. I'd love to listen and share more about my approach. You don't have to settle for less than your highest potential!
